THE CITY
Located on the Western Ligurian Riviera in the inlet between Mola Point and Aspera Point, it enjoys a remarkable historical tradition still readable today in its urban layout.

Archaeological findings housed in the Alpicella Museum confirm the presence of man since the Neolithic age. Called Navalia at first and Varagine later on, it was the birth-place of Jacopo da Varagine, the saint of the "Golden Legend", Lanzerotto Malocello, who discovered Canary Islands, and many other.

Varazze was given the title of town in 1864. The shipbuilding industry has a very long-standing tradition and is much appreciated worldwide still today.
